Fun news: I’m the guest fiction editor of the next issue of The Ilanot Review, an Israeli literary journal publishing stories, essays, and poetry in English. The theme is letters. We’re looking for epistolary work in the broadest sense: not only classic letters, but also emails, texts, chats, posts, tweets, Instagrams, etc. . If you’d like to read an epistolary story to get the feel for what we have in mind, here is my favorite–“Bright Winter” by Anna Keesey. It originally appeared in Granta and was reprinted in a volume of the Best American Short Stories.  frequently teach it in my workshops. Based on a true historical event, it breaks my heart anew every time I read it.
