I am the author of the novels The Last Day of the War and A Reunion of GhostsThe Last Day of the War is the story of young lovers embroiled in a clandestine movement intent on punishing the architects of the Armenian Genocide. In A Reunion of Ghosts, three sisters, depressed but with senses of humor intact, explain what’s gone so wrong that they’ve decided to end their lives on the last day of the 20th century.

Both novels combine carefully researched historical events with fiction to explore the human condition in all its complexity from the worst we inflict upon each other–war, genocide, divisive sectarianism–to the best we’re capable of, including our ability to create intimacy, family, and, even in the grimmest times, laughter.
