Judith Claire Mitchell is the author of two novels: The Last Day of the War, set in the aftermath of World War I and exploring issues of ethnic-identity and nationalism (but also a love story), and A Reunion of Ghosts, the story of four generations of a family struggling to make sense of their places in the twentieth century, with the first generation based on the German chemists Fritz and Clara Haber.
